Strabusmus and amblyopia

Amblyopia treatment results largely depend on the early initiation of therapy

Early detection of amblyopia, an expert team with extensive experience in working with children, and the partnership between ophthalmologists and parents defines the success of amblyopia treatment and what we at Profesional Hospital have pride in.

  • Amblyopia

Reduced vision or amblyopia is a condition characterized by reduced visual acuity, which cannot be corrected by wearing glasses or contact lenses, in the absence of an organic eye disorder, that is, an eye disease.

  • Amblyopia treatment

Amblyopia treatment must be started in time. Amblyopia treatment is based on two principles.

The first is the elimination/correction of the cause, and the second is forcing the development of the amblyopic eye.

  • Strabismus

Strabismus is a condition characterized by a disturbance of oculomotor balance, that is, two eyes do not have the same direction of gaze when observing an object. One eye, which fixes the observed object, has a normal position while the other eye is either turned inward (to the nose) or outward.

  • Strabusmus surgery

With various types of surgery on the eye muscles, it is possible to bring the eye back into the correct position and correct the strabismus. Strabismus surgeries are based on strengthening and/or weakening certain out-of-balance eye muscles to re-establish the disturbed balance. Strabusmus surgery is performed under general anesthesia
